It was lightly drizzling on a hot Chicago night and I was standing in a fountain with my tripod taking long exposure photos of kids playing in the water.
That’s when I met James and Rachel. They were dancing in the fountain. My first thought was “What a wonderful date, this guy is quite the romantic.” I was disheartened to learn that James was simply teaching Rachel how to ball room dance and they were not a couple. “What a shame,” I thought, “there was definitely chemistry there.”
We swapped email addresses and I promised to send them copies of the photos I was taking. Today I got an email from James. As luck would have it, as of that beautiful evening they were dating and now they have photos of their first date.
Moments like this are why I never leave home without my camera.
